The MusicEL (Music ELearning) platform has come out of Cornwall Music Service Trust’s experiences throughout the pandemic.

The pedagogy of eLearning is different (as we’ve all discovered by necessity), but has many long-term benefits – such as self-directed learning, and learning at your own pace. Alongside our curriculum courses for schools (below), your students will also be able to access courses at home for independent learning, for guitar, drums, ukulele, songwriting, music technology, and lots more. See our full list of courses here:

Courses

What will a MusicEL subscription for schools provide?

Access to courses tailored for schools

Blended learning or online courses in:

  • First Access – whole class instrumental learning
  • Wellbeing – courses for KS2 and KS3 students designed for use in assemblies or tutor time.

Full access for everyone in your school

All staff and students (or parents) in your school will be able to access our courses, in school or at home.

The aim is to encourage exploration of music, and support you in increasing school music activity.

Blended Learning – combining resources with in-person work.

Online Resources

With online courses available between sessions with a Cornwall Music Service Trust (CMST) teacher, you can use our resources in new ways.

For example with “first access” whole-class instrumental learning, the CMST teacher can help with on-the-job training so school teachers are confident to deliver the same courses (or follow on courses) themselves with other classes, to support the music curriculum, or for after-school clubs, even after the CMST teacher has finished.

In person teaching

In person delivery of sessions by a Cornwall Music Service Trust teacher supports the school in upskilling staff with on-the-job CPD.

By demonstrating how MusicEL courses can be used as “scaffolding” to support and structure lessons, school teachers can build confidence by co-leading sessions with our specialist teachers.

Training can also be arranged for MATs in using MusicEL as part of the model music curriculum.

Other Services

Training

We can arrange training for MATs and schools in person, or using video conferencing, and sharing resources.

Bespoke projects

Get in touch with your project idea to find out how we can help.

Curriculum planning

We can help you plan and design your music curriculum.

Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them. A world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.
